Hello Ellen. I second all of the comments above, and am equally trying to absorb all of the knowledge that you are sharing. I am certain I will be retaining you for editing services in the near future.Thank you for being so open.
Hello Ellen,
I love your website and YouTube videos. The information you provide is concise, useful and well organized. I also think you should continue with First Page Fridays. I love the overview it gives of the talent within the amateur writing community. I thought as in addition you could post the first pages of several of your favourite novels and explain how the writers introduced the story and characters in a compelling and efficient manner. This would allow your viewership to learn by example.
Good luck and thank you.
Jody
Hi Ellen–I didn’t know you had access to my full manuscript! Your “Saggy Middle” piece today was spot-on for the problems I’ve got with my novel. Thoroughly enjoying the Boot Camp. So much for me to learn.
Thanks,
jim
Hi Ellen
I’ve just started watching your YouTube videos and I found them wonderful, they give me hope that I may write a novel one day. Ellen, I am the definition of a novice writer, and looking forward to possibly participating novel boot camp.
Robert
Just curious, is this site still active? I ask because most of the posts and comments come from the middle of last year. I know it’s still a fairly new year and all, but are the games, competitions, and such still in process?
They are over for now, but more will be coming later in the year. Thanks!
Hi, Ellen,
Just wanted to thank you for the extremely useful Boot Camp articles. I learned so much! Do you have any articles about becoming a novel editor–it strikes me as my dream job. How did you get where you are professionally?
Thanks,
Lisa Smith
Your very smart, and your videos are a big help.
Can you make a video about some of the obscure comma rules, as opposed to the usual stuff that everybody repeats. I’ve been stumped for quite a while with four or so comma issues that I can’t find an answer to anywhere.
If you don’t make the video about commas, would you consider helping me resolve my confusion about them?
Hi Ellen
thank you sooooo much for your advice and dedication.
Bella
Wow- this has been sooo helpful to me as I start my novel! Can’t wait to go through more of your videos and articles- and very excited for boot camp next year (wish I had known about it this year!) Thank you, Ellen š
I was wondering what your thoughts were on changing genre in series. Nothing crazy like going from strict horror to strict romance. But turning an urban fantasy into a who dun it mystery, for a single book. (think Clue.)
